Alor Setar, the capital of Kedah Darul Aman, is the second-largest city in the state after Sungai Petani. Nicknamed the “Rice Bowl of Malaysia,” the city is surrounded by vast paddy fields and has rapidly developed into a bustling commercial hub. Alor Setar is also the birthplace of two former Prime Ministers of Malaysia, YTM Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al- Haj and Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad.
